Abstract:
Wall modeling is a necessary technology when simulating high-Reynolds number flows using Cartesian grids. Due to the non-body-conforming nature of Cartesian grids, special techniques, such as a partial-slip boundary condition, are needed for accurate reproduction of turbulent boundary layers. This talk introduces the development of the combination of wall modeling and a sharp-interface immersed boundary method for both RANS and LES.
