PolyJet technology: a revolution in 3D printing

Equipement manager: Grégory Cano

The Stratasys J850 Digital Anatomy Printer uses PolyJet technology, one of the most advanced and sophisticated in 3D printing. This technology is based on the projection of fine droplets of liquid photopolymers onto a build platform, which are then cured by exposure to UV light. This process enables the creation of parts with complex geometries and unrivalled precision and detail.
  •    High Resolution: Ability to produce ultra-thin layers from 14 to 27 microns, offering exceptional detail and smooth surfaces.
  •    Multi-material: Possibility of combining several materials in a single print, enabling the creation of parts with varied mechanical and aesthetic properties.
  •    Soft materials: Rubber-like materials with Shore A hardness, elongation at break, tear and tensile strength.
  •    Vivid and Precise Colors: Full color support with over 500,000 color combinations, including validated Pantone shades, for realistic prototypes.
Its applications are numerous, ranging from the highly detailed reproduction (20 micron resolution) of bio-fidelic human hearts to the creation of innovative membranes for extra-corporeal circulation devices, the manufacture of implants sterilized with supercritical CO2, micro-fluidic devices for the study of immersed vesicles, exchange reactors, digitally optimized aerodynamic elements, etc.
